REST

One of the key ways you can know as a Christian that you have entered God’s rest (Hebrews 4:3, 9-10) is that you are grace conscious and not law conscious. Romans 6:12 & 14 tell us that sin shall not have dominion over us because we are not under the Law but under Grace.

Always remember that the Law demands but Grace supplies. The pressure to perform or “to be” comes when we rely on ourselves instead of Christ. You see, we sin and fall short of God’s glory but praise the Lord, Christ is in us the hope of glory! – Col 1:27 And He is FULL of Grace and Truth (John 1:14) 😍🤩

King David uses a very interesting Hebrew word in his psalms (Psalm 57:2 & 138:8), “gamar” which means to not just perform or complete but to also bring to and end (a good end – Jer 29:11; Phil 1:6). And so he says in these Psalms (tehiliym):

Psalm 57:2 KJV
I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth [gamar] all things for me.

Psalm 138:8 KJV
The LORD will perfect [gamar] that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Let the pressure be on Christ, child of God. He will work that which is good in you (Phil 2:13; Eph 2:10). The pressure to be a spouse, parent, a leader, a friend, a child, a sibling, a worker, a Minister, a Christian etc. whatever it is, let the emphasis be on Christ and you will rest. The Holy Spirit will work in you and through you. This is what it means to be under Grace instead of the exceedingly and unrealistically demanding laws

The Christian life truly is an Exchanged Life, a divine exchange between Christ and the sinner. My weak, sinful life died in Christ and now His rightoeusness is at work in me. He does the whole work and I Rest (John 14:10).

He cannot and will not fail. Be patient with yourself. God has been and will be with you. Oh how I love this new better covenant, established on better promises (Heb 8:6) ratified by the Precious Blood of Jesus (Heb 13:20) that speaks better (Greek – stronger) things

For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God.” – Galatians 2:19 (NLT)

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”Galatians 2:20‭-‬21 (KJV)

“Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.”Galatians 5:4 (KJV)

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”Colossians 3:1‭-‬4 (NKJV)
